City council, mayor, district council and district administrator are up for election

Eligibility to vote:

Persons who are eligible to vote in the elections on 14 September 2025

• German within the meaning of Article 116 (1) of the Basic Law or citizens of the European Union,
• has reached the age of 16 (born on 14 September 2009 at the latest),
• have lived in Beckum without interruption since at least 29 August 2025 - or their main residence if they have more than one home,
• are not excluded from the right to vote and
• is entered in the electoral roll.

Hinweise für Personen, die sich nach dem 03. August an-, ab- oder ummelden

Damit Sie am Wahlsonntag Ihre Stimme abgeben können, müssen Sie im Wählerverzeichnis eingetragen sein.

Entry in the electoral roll:

• Automatisch in das Wählerverzeichnis eingetragen werden alle Wahlberechtigten - einschließlich der wahlberechtigten Unionbürger*innen, die am Stichtag 03.08.2025 (42. Tag vor der Wahl) mit Hauptwohnsitz in Beckum gemeldet sind. Dieser Personenkreis erhält automatisch einen Wahlbenachrichtigungsbrief per Post zugeschickt.
• Wahlberechtigte, die in der Zeit vom 04. August 2025 bis zum 29. August 2025 von außerhalb zuziehen oder innerhalb der Stadt Beckum umziehen, werden von Amts wegen in das Wählerverzeichnis des für die neue Wohnung maßgeblichen Stimmbezirkes eingetragen und erhalten einen Wahlbenachrichtigungsbrief unaufgefordert zugeschickt.
• If you move away from the town of Beckum and the district of Warendorf before election day, you will lose your right to vote and will be deleted from the electoral roll. At the same time, you will receive the right to vote at the place where you moved to, provided this is in NRW.
• Sollten Sie ab dem 30. August 2025 aus Beckum in einen anderen Ort des Kreises Warendorf ziehen, so werden Sie in Beckum aus dem Wählerverzeichnis gestrichen und am neuen Wohnort nur für die Kreiswahlen eingetragen. Gleiches gilt, wenn Sie aus dem Kreisgebiet Warendorf nach Beckum ziehen. Bereits abgegebene Briefwahlstimmen werden ungültig.
• Sollten Sie keinen Wahlbenachrichtigungsbrief erhalten haben, aber der Auffassung sein, wahlberechtigt zu sein, wenden Sie sich zur Klärung gerne an das Bürgerbüro.

During elections in Beckum, hundreds of electoral assistants are deployed at polling stations and for counting postal votes. Most of these electoral assistants are citizens of the town of Beckum.
