"Energy-saving learning experience" at primary schools in Beckum
Curtain up for sustainable action
Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich personally opened the interactive kick-off event and not only recalled his own school days at this very location, but also emphasised how important it is to develop an awareness of energy, climate protection and sustainable action at an early age.

Dr Daniel Dierich from Energieversorgung Beckum and Stefan Bürger from Sparkasse Münsterland Ost also welcomed the pupils from the third and fourth grades and emphasised the joint responsibility of the energy supplier, Sparkasse and the town of Beckum in particular as sponsors of this project.
The "Energy Saving Learning Experience" brings an energy-packed learning theatre to all primary schools in Beckum. It is designed and realised by the FS Infotainment agency. The theatre play teaches children about energy sources, energy consumption, climate change and ways to save energy in an entertaining way. Using 3D graphics, music and games, the pupils experience how fascinating physics and climate protection can be - from the Big Bang to the greenhouse effect. The FS Infotainment team will reach all primary schools in Beckum with two events per day over just three days.
The town of Beckum, Energieversorgung Beckum and Sparkasse Münsterland Ost have been working together for several years to promote early environmental education and practical knowledge transfer in daycare centres and schools. Feedback from the schools already shows that the current format is well received by children and teachers alike - and perhaps also stimulates the odd conversation about electricity and heating at home.
