Grand finale to the 2024/25 chamber concert season
Aleksandra Mikulska enchants the vicarage in Vellern with the sounds of Chopin
The internationally renowned pianist Aleksandra Mikulska, described by the press as an exceptional pianist, thrilled the audience in the sold-out vicarage in Vellern with an evening of Chopin with her magnificent, sensitive and technically brilliant playing.
Sensitivity, musical expressiveness and flawless playing technique: Aleksandra Mikulska embodies these qualities once demanded by Frédéric Chopin to the highest degree.
The concert began with Chopin's mazurkas, traditional dances and pieces in three-four time. This was followed by waltzes by Chopin and a ballade in F minor. In the second part of the concert, Aleksandra Mikulska interpreted Chopin's Prelude in C sharp minor, the Fantaisie Impromptu, two Nocturnes and the Scherzo in B flat minor in a masterly and unique way.
The artist's personal touch was evident in every piece of music. She succeeds in touching people deeply with her playing and thus entering into a dialogue with the audience through the music.
The artist's explanations of the individual pieces and of Chopin's life and work helped the audience to experience and understand Chopin's music even more intensively.
Aleksandra Mikulska thanked the audience for the standing ovation with two encores. She dedicated a piece by Franz Liszt to the late Herbert Pälmke, the initiator of the chamber music series "Music in the Old Rectory".
